My colleague Leslie Martin, who is writing and protesting about the minor league baseball stadium proposed for Fredericksburg. There are several valid reasons why this project is wrong for our community, and Martin uses sociological knowledge of community and economic development to make her point. Students of Dr. Eric Bonds created a blog for Environmental Sociology that tracks bicycle and pedestrian accidents in Fredericksburg. They mapped pedestrian/car accidents over eight years, commemorated the location of the accidents with white ribbons, and brief first-hand investigations of the areas. So cool!
